Our Removable Dam system has been engineered to provide similar levels of protection to permanent flood defence schemes, but with the distinct advantage of being removable when not required - thus preserving the integrity of the landscape and architecture. The system can be used between existing structures but has been primarily designed to be completely self-supporting over almost any distance and may be specified for virtually any height of flood water.   Recommended Uses :- Roadways, subways, embankment promenades, industrial complexes, shopping precincts Listed and historic buildings where it's necessary to preserve the fabric of the building or it isn't possible to fit flood barriers to the structure Scenic areas where permanent flood defences would despoil the outlook Whole villages or susceptible areas of towns and cities Anywhere that permanent defences are impractical Each system is custom fabricated and has been designed to withstand water depths of several metres over the specified distance. The only permanent elements of our system are the supporting base rails which are recessed into ground level foundations with the components of the dam itself being stored until needed.
